Patience is the key to becoming a progressive, compassionate and resilient employee as well as to the growth of an organization. You become a better parent, friend, spouse, and you build better relationships with your co-workers. When you develop patience on the mat, you bring this important quality to everything you do. Or maybe you’ve been working on a particular yoga pose for months now with almost no improvement.Įverything happens in its’ own time and some things just can’t be rushed. When you know it’s ok to not be perfect all the time, you feel more confident and sure of yourself.Īnd confidence is the key to better workplace performance and an organization that shines.ĥ) Patience – You may wish you could touch your toes in a forward fold or hold Tree Pose without swaying so much or falling over. If you’re in a leadership position in your company, adding yoga to our weekly routine can greatly improve your leadership qualities. It’s only natural then that yoga can certainly make you a better leader. Yoga forces us to slow down, go within and just be (as opposed to racing through something, pushing and not paying attention.) We might describe it as humility, grace, a great listener, strong, genuine, trusting and more. While it may start as compassion for yourself, this quickly translates to compassion for others around you – like family, friends and yes – team members at work.Ĭompassion opens doors to communication and can lead to better relationships and flow in your organization.ģ) Better Leader – If we look at the top qualities of a great leader, they seem to have this innate quality that we sometimes can’t quite put our finger on. You’ll also inspire others to be more motivated, which is key to forward moving & staying on track within an organization.Ģ) Compassion – If you’ve ever practiced yoga, you’ll know it’s a safe space to release judgement and negative emotions like fear and a great place to cultivate compassion.
